I’m always amazed at our SBC fascination with the Annual Church Profile. In reality it is a way for the church to look better than it is in reality. Sure it looks great to say we 300, 500, 1001, etc. members, but it is shame that the membership numbers are high and the avg. attendance is on avg. half. And then we move on to baptism numbers and rejoice when we at least have one, that is until we find out that it took 300 “members” to baptize one lost person. Who’s rejoicing now?
